Adult Basic Literacy Education Program
2229 Fifth Avenue, Havre, MT 59501 Phone: (406) 265-6743 Toll-Free: (800) 640-6743 Website: hrdc4.org Contact: Kathy LundmanThe Adult Basic Literacy Education Program serves all adult learners 16 and over who are interested in improving their literacy skills whether it be for advancement in their present employment, securing initial employment, acquiring a high school diploma or it's equivalency, or improve their general life skills that would assist them in improving their overall quality of life. Services are also available for adult learners with no or limited English proficiency skills. Hours are: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-12:00 pm, 1:00 pm-5:00 pm. Other times arranged on request.

District IV HRDC
2229 Fifth Avenue, Havre, MT 59501 Phone: (406) 265-6743 Toll-Free: (800) 640-6743 Website: hrdc4.orgA Community Action Agency, HRDC provides services to low income families and individuals in Hill, Blaine, and Liberty counties.
Employment and Training Services include assessment, case management, career and academic counseling, drop out prevention, work experience, mentoring, occupational skills training, basic skills training, supportive services, job search, and job placement to youth and adults.
Northern Montana Child Development Center (Head Start and Early Head Start) are no-cost infant, toddler, preschool child and family development programs designed to maximize the strengths and unique experiences of each child and family.
Child Care Link Resource and Referral program links parents and childcare providers, and administers childcare scholarship programs for low-income families.
Family Partnership program is an intensive, in-home crisis intervention and family education program.
Energy and Weatherization programs are designed to help recipients conserve energy and cut down on their fuel costs.
Domestic Abuse program provides alternatives for people who are living in violent home situations. Emergency shelter, victim advocacy, community education, support groups, and a 24-hour crisis line are available.
Housing Assistance administers Section 8, low-income, and transitional housing programs.

For adults 19 and older, who are low income and/or whose parent (s) have not completed a four-year college degree. Experience Works has several options to help participants in their search for employment: community service training, on-the-job training, classroom training, and job search skill training. The goal of the organization is to help the older worker get back into the workforce, help them to realize their potential for performing meaningful work, and to raise their standard of living.

It serves the Hill, Blaine, Chouteau counties for job placement and employer services - and Hill, Blaine and Liberty counties for training programs.

Job Seekers - Can receive counseling, labor market information, job search assistance on a local, state & national level and skill testing.
Employers - Can list job openings and receive assistance in employee recruitment and placement.

Job Seekers - Employment related Internet access, Montana Career Information System, books, videos, Win Way Resume Writer and other related programs for resumes and cover letters, job seeking assistance, career topics, job hunting computer, brochures on many topics and Labor Market Information.
Employers - Variety of books, newsletters & pamphlets on Human Resource and Employment.
Veterans Services
Veterans receive priority service in job placement and other veteran issues.

(Please call to confirm appointment time)This U.S. Department of Labor program offers free hands-on career training and education completion for young adults ages 16-24 years old, which is available at several Job Corps Campuses in the region. Services include career training in over 30 fields, GED or high school diploma completion, a college program, driver's education, room and board, medical and dental coverage, as well as placement services.

OPA may provide funding for necessary supportive services provided all other available resources have been accessed. Childcare assistance is available if needed to participate in employment or work readiness. Transportation and other types of supportive services relating directly to employment may also be provided.

The desired student outcome is to better prepare students for their career realities. Havre Public Schools are actively engaged in the implementation of STC. In the past year, our schools have made progress toward full integration of STC into our curricula. STC is not a program, but a long-term initiative to make fundamental changes in education.

Vocational Rehabilitation

Eligible individuals may receive services such as: evaluation services, career counseling and guidance services, medical and psychological services, training, rehabilitation technology services, job development and placement services, and other services necessary for the employment area.
